Faith isn't something that can be proven scientifically, as it relates to the spiritual realm rather than the physical. Believers experience that the “proof” is in their actual personal experience and relationship with God. I understand that may not make sense if someone hasn’t had that experience, but for believers it isn’t about proving the spiritual world or their faith—it’s about living it. Faith is understood as trust in God, whom I have found keeps all His promises, and operates outside the scope of scientific investigation, since this involves the spiritual world.

Faith is quite the opposite from belief without evidence, and though some cannot understand that perhaps, that doesn't make faith or God, any less valid. Faith is defined as a deep, committed trust in God’s faithfulness and promises, often described as “the evidence of things not seen”. In the Bible, it is described as what I've experienced: Upon receiving Jesus as my personal Savior, I received the Holy Spirit, as promised in His Word, which in turn, completely transformed my life for the good. That was in 1973 that I accepted Jesus as my Savior. I have never been sorry. I have seen many other lives transformed this way, as promised in God's Word. I respect that you may see it differently, and I’m not trying to convince you—just sharing what it has meant in my life.

The Case For Christ: Lee Strobel may help you on your journey.

@peterlee The suggested journey terminates in folly, in failure. I have completed a far more difficult journey that surpasses wisdom, ending in justice.

@SW-User If your journey ends without believing Jesus and trusting in His atonement.. Your journey has been a waste of time and effort..
SW-User
@Adstar Sorry, but that's an extremely foolish conclusion. It requires becoming unreasonable and ignorant.

I don't mind them - religions of all sorts probably keep most people in line better than if they are left to their own devices :)

@SW-User For some.

For a lot of people - they need the fear of burning in a place of fiery torment to keep them in check.

The one down side (just one that I'm mentioning) is that it is also used to justify wars because "Gawd is on our side" and the others are sub-human heathens

(even if they might actually be the same religion)

@Pretzel A carrot works just as well as a stick.

@SW-User for people that are basically decent anyway - hence "heaven"

Believing literally means having faith in something that cannot be proven. For example, no one says they “believe” fire is hot or the sun is bright; instead, they say they “know” these things.

@Renkon In Quantum
Mechanics bi position is possible

For example in an ammonium molecule, the nitrogen atom sits 50% of its time above the three hydrogen atoms. And 50% below. Yet never passes through the middle!

@peterlee An exchange has likely ocurred.

@SW-User Apparently not. In a divise called a tunnel diode, there is a forbidden zone where electrons cannot pass. Yet electrons are found the other side of the barrier.
