Fake news

@NativePortlander1970 Actually, I believe it. Not because the book has any special powers. Any thick book like the Bible is more likely to survive a fire, just because of its density and the relatively high burning temperature of paper.

@ItsMeMorgue Throwing a thick book into a fireplace is a lot different than a super high temperature house fire where oak tables catch as easily as twig kindling, 451 degrees farenheight isn't exactly that high when house fires can reach as high as 2,500 degrees farenheight, a bible would be incinerated easily.

@NativePortlander1970 I guess I didn't think about how hot houses get when they catch fire. Good point. But still, when the book is shut and no air is getting between the pages, it's more likely to survive even an inferno like that. I'm willing to bet there are plenty of stories about encyclopedias surviving house fires, but nobody publishes those because it's not a bible.
