A non-Christian majoring in Bible studies is an interesting concept. Why did you decide to do that?

@walabby Honestly because I never really read or study it.

@QueenandCrown A critical study of the Bible will not make you a Christian. You're safe.. XD
QueenandCrown · 41-45, F
@walabby No lie. About half the people who studies religion stops believing in it.

@QueenandCrown That sounds about right.
As a piece of literature, the Bible has influenced modern society more than any other book. Believe in it or not, it deserves critical study...

@walabby I agree! I wasn't sure if it is the greatest story ever written. But it kind of is..

@QueenandCrown Have you ever heard of an author by the name of Bart D Ehrman?
QueenandCrown · 41-45, F
@walabby Yes. He is very popular in the theologian circle. I suppose you can say My views are similar to his.
walabby · 61-69, M
@QueenandCrown Mine too, but he only confirmed what I already suspected. I don't agree with him on absolutely everything, just most things.

@walabby Were you Christian?
walabby · 61-69, M
@QueenandCrown Sort of. I was raised in a fundamentalist home, planned to be Christian after I got through doing some enthusiastic sinning during my youth, but when I actually started to study the Bible I discovered that it was illogical and inaccurate. One thing led to another and I threw the lot out. I'm sort of spiritual now... but that is not totally accurate either.

@walabby I can dig it.

@QueenandCrown How about yourself?
