I Am Christian

But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. Matthew 5:44-45

as we face attacks left and right by non christians, liberals, feminists, gays, transgenders and our own government remember these words. christians before us were persecuted and some killed but the church stood firm. my own ancestors many died in the old country and others ran out coming to the us. but even here they have faced persecution.

Is there something wrong with respecting that some people have views that aren't yours or something?

they need to take their own advice. seems everyone has rights but christians.
I know that many religious practices and customs are being banned more and more in the public realm. Is that what you mean?
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@lovelldo: Yes but also forcing Christians to do things against their religion
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@lovelldo: for example a private christian ran business servicing gay weddings. 2 christian schools being forbidden to pray before a game because it might offend nonchristians in the stands. well if they are so offended why are they attending a football game between christian schools. a gay boy suing his all male catholic for inforcing a school rule about no nonstudent males attending proms for damages. kinda halirious seeing that boy now attends a catholic college.

drs and other health care providers are now being forced in some places to perform abortions.
I understand. I would never not support freedom of religion.
I think the services that health care providers provide would fall under a separate topic.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@lovelldo: abortion goes against their religious beliefs.
The beliefs of the companies or the people who work there.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@lovelldo: the ppl that work there but they are trying to force dr with private practices and christian ran hospitals to provide them. one is ca
My thinking is that hospitals and insurance companies are counted on to provide services (that are legal) to a lot of people, some of whom either aren't religious or have a religion other than what is mainstream.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@lovelldo: yes services thats not against their religious beliefs. a dr can refuse to tie a womans tubes or give a man viscetomy based on his religious beliefs. abortion is a elective procedure not exactly a life and death situation in 99 percent of cases.
Hospital/insurance companies vs individual health care providers.

theyre going after church ran hospitals like the chi and baptists
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
and drs with private practices
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
most places have more than 1 hospital i know the city closest to me has 3 main hospitals and each of them has at least 1 other hospital thats part of their system. one of which is catholic but the other 2 have no religious afiliation.
I understand your point of view but what about views that differ from yours? That's the point I really wanted to make.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
we have a small hospital here which is mostly an er right now it closed down and been bought out but they havent got all the services back up. but least the er is going. it serves 3 counties having once been called tri-county actually and 1 of the counties s far from the hospital trying to get all the way to the city in a real emergency thats 30 mins away could be dangerous
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@lovelldo: you mean the hospitals that employee drs and nurses who are against abortion. well theres often more than one obgyn or gynie nurse on duty.
There are laws set for the people by the government and there are beliefs held by the those people and those beliefs vary. How to interchange the two without taking away their rights to freedom.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@lovelldo: what do u mean? i think im not getting you are you saying a hospital has the right to force a dr to perform an abortion on a woman just because its not religiously affilated.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@lovelldo: multiple drs are employed by a hospital and im sure not all are against abortion due to religious reasons. also most abortions are not done at hospitals but in dr's offices and clinics like planned parenthood. the state that trying to enforce this ca and it was stopped by a federal judge
What was the state trying to stop? Do you mean abortions or the right for doctors not to perform them.
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
The right of drs not to perform them
