I Am Christian

I am an Atheist who is sick and tired of christians trying to force their beliefs onto me. They try to drag me and those like me into their delusions by presuming we're really christians just "going through a phase of doubt" and that "god will help you if you just ask him". I'd rather put my faith in the Flying Spaghetti Monster, at least spaghetti is real.

Trying to indoctrinate adults is bad enough but attempting to indoctrinate and frighten children with their beliefs is despicable. If they had a conscience they'd be ashamed of themselves. Instead they try to excuse their actions by claiming they're "doing god's work", just as those who slaughtered elderly women as "witches" were. Any god worth the title could do its own work!

I am a Christian but I don't ever stuff my beliefs down other people's throats. I think religion and beliefs are people's own private choices and I certainly don't claim to be a good Christian either

@sarahcupcake That's good. If all christians kept their beliefs to themselves there wouldn't be a problem.
@sarahcupcake, I didn't have a choice, I was born into it by family tradition. I was in the 6th grade, attending church and Sunday school when my break from the catholic religion began. The nun spoke to the class saying, "You are very lucky to be born catholic because anyone who isn't when they die they will all be punished and will all go to hell forever." (All my friends that weren't C's ???) then she went to the closet and took out boxes of candy bars, "Who wants to buy a candy bar, the money goes to the poor people." I told my mom I wasn't going back and didn't. As I grew up I began to see others who were "believers" violate the teachings including priests. I don't label myself as agnostic or atheist but as a non believer. I don't need your god or your religion, that doesn't mean I am evil, to live my life as a good man. Believe what you want I do. (I could expand on this in much more detail but I wont) Have a beautiful day and a beautiful life.

Yes I too was brought up in a Christian family and there was a certain amount of religious education at school which in fairness was mostly Christian based. Speaking personally and looking back it was education. I'm sure the majority of my peers at school follow the trend of being atheist or agnostic (but that is an assumption). My mother went to a convent and she obviously had all that stuff pushed down her throat by the nuns at that time. Fortunately we have all moved on since then. I agree with you too.... there are a lot of lovely good kind caring people out in the world who have no religion. I think the Church of England (which really is the only one I know about) have rather a lot to answer for but of course it's so easy to criticise and I don't want to be a critic. They tell me that Jesus doesn't like me because I am a lesbian. I happen not to agree with that. I may not be amazing or perfect, and in fact I am prolly a crappy Christian but... I am still one. I hope the new week goes well for you too 😀 @softspokenman
