I Am Christian

I don't believe creationism can compete with evolution when it comes to logically and consistently explaining the evidence we see.

Using an evolutionary model we would expect to see life on earth going from less complex to more complex as adaptations compound. If we look at the fossil record, this is exactly what we see. Simple invertebrates to fish to reptiles to mammals and so on. And while we do of course see simple organisms coexisting with complex ones ( just look at an earth worm) we never see something like a ichthyosaur in a fossil bed with trilobites. Nowhere. Ever.
From a creation standpoint where the animals were created at around the same time we would expect to see animals at all stages of complexity mixed together. And yet we find these fossil beds with exclusively “simple” organisms.

Does anyone have a better explanation for that evidence from a creation perspective?

surprises me that I've found time to waste on this subject. it's so stupid that doesn't even deserve a second of my life. it's completely fucked up and absurd. facts are facts and you can't argue about them. even the pope accepts and embraces science and evolution with complete certain.
I really have a hard time thinking about the possibility of people believing in creationism. stupidity has no limits. fortunately I never met someone like that

@unknownpoetx
...the pope accepts and embraces science and evolution with complete certain
The catholic church does not accept the Theory of Evolution.
The catholic church:
1. denies that evolution applies to humans
2. touts what it calls 'theistic evolution'... the unsupported and completely superfluous claim that a magical entity directs evolution in order to support some or other goal i.e. that evolution is both teleological and subject to magic.

Either of those bastardisations mean that whatever it is that they claim to accept, it isn't the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection.

To cover their duplicity, they try to create a straw-man called 'biological evolution' (there's some other sort?) and to then differentiate that from 'theistic evolution'... in other words, to deliberately create confusion in the minds of the public by foisting upon them a distinction without a difference.

Under Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, the International Theological Commission published a paper accepting the big bang of 15 billion years ago and the evolution of all life including humans from the microorganisms that formed approximately 4 billion years ago

@unknownpoetx The link you offered led to a long, and rather tedious tract of sophistic waffle that tries to make an argument for 'theistic evolution', diverts away into 'imago dei' (thereby smoothly begging the question), and contains such gems as:
Catholic theology affirms that that the emergence of the first members of the human species (whether as individuals or in populations) represents an event that is not susceptible of a purely natural explanation and which can appropriately be attributed to divine intervention. Acting indirectly through causal chains operating from the beginning of cosmic history, God prepared the way for what Pope John Paul II has called “an ontological leap...the moment of transition to the spiritual.”

Hilarious!

'an ontological leap'! In other words... then a miracle occurred!

(actually, paragraph 69 is the really funny part)

@unknownpoetx I have no idea what you're trying to say... perhaps you could clarify your remark for me... and perhaps you could detail the relevance of the link you just posted?
