I Am Christian
I was raised Catholic, with the Bishop of Rome head of the church.
Father Paterson was a nice old priest, but he got frail quickly and they moved him back to England. I think he died. I liked him, he was kind and so very understanding, and we don't get many English priests in Ireland these days.
I believe in the sacraments we are taught, that we do observe keenly, and the church really is like a mother to me. But I am reading a lot as well, and I'm drawn to ideas that I've seen from the Buddhists and from the messianist Jews.
There's more to being a Christian than simply belonging somewhere.
