@markinkansas Are you speaking figuratively when you say with broken wings? Because I don't recall reading that in the Bible. Do you have a verse? You are right though. He was and is, a fallen angel.

You are absolutely right: Satan is "the adversary" and part of his job right now is accusing us before God day and night. Revelation 12:10 calls him "the accuser of our brothers... who accuses them before our God day and night."
And you’re also right about Job — Job 1:12, Job 2:6. God is still sovereign and in control. Amen to that.
What I would add is this: Satan DOES oppose God, but he is not God’s equal and he cannot defeat Him.
The word "Satan" means adversary, and "devil" means slanderer. He is called "your adversary" in 1 Peter 5:8 because he comes against us, but Scripture also shows him coming against God’s plan and God’s people.
A few examples:
1. He tempted Jesus in the wilderness to get Him to disobey God’s plan. Matthew 4:1-11
2. He entered Judas to betray Jesus. Luke 22:3
3. He blinds the minds of those who don’t believe, so they won’t see the gospel. 2 Corinthians 4:4
4. He goes to make war against those who keep God’s commands. Revelation 12:17
So he opposes God by attacking what God loves — us! And he tries to steal souls, just like you said. And our joy and peace and fellowship with God.
About the end: Revelation 20:7-10 tells us that after the thousand year Millennium, Satan will go out to deceive the nations one last time and gather them for battle against God. But the Bible is clear how it ends: "the devil... was thrown into the lake of fire... and will be tormented day and night forever." God wins. Every time.
So, Satan is not God’s equal. He can’t win. Jesus already defeated him at the cross. Colossians 2:15

Thank you for this beautiful post "on demand". It explains clearly who Satan is and who he is not. What is power of Satan and what is not. If he can try tempting Jesus, we all can be tried too at times. But With the right armor like the Sheild of "Holy Spirit" we can resist him.
I do not yet know how the snake is related to satan. There is something said about "bruising head" about snake and woman. I do not know what it was about though.
