Right Or Wrong Beliefs

Genuine question:

Is there a right or wrong way to believe the Bible?

For context:

I am talking to someone on TikTok, and apparently while we were chatting, the more we chatted, the more this person made me question whether I was believing the scriptures that I know incorrectly. This person was making me doubt the way I understand Bible Verses, and I don't know if it is right to feel uncomfortable about what is happening, but I feel uncomfortable because I don't understand if he is just trying to change my belief or what version of the Bible even this person is reading.

This is what makes me feel uncomfortable: This person said that He does not feel a genuine desire to share the words of God, in other words, he is being forced to share the words of God

My point is: Is there a right or wrong way to believe the Bible? Please enlighten me 😭 I don't want to be led in the wrong perspectives by people 😭

Let me give you an example:

Proverbs 3:5-6

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and not with your own understanding"

I believe that when you resent me this, you wrote it in a different version, so my question is, how do you understand this message? Because to me, I understand it as "Trust in the Lord no matter what happens because you might not understand why you are experiencing what you are experiencing right now, but the Lord knows why you are experiencing what you are experiencing, and He is telling you to trust in Him because His way is better"

Thank you

Well if you start from the point that god wrote the bible than you're totally wrong.

@22Michelle it’s the Islamic faith where a central tenet is that the written text is the immutable word of Allah. Most Christians will speak of the text of the Bible as ‘inspired’ by God, but some add that it is inerrant while allowing for further interpretation as knowledge of the times in which they emerged and the discovery of new scrolls to clarify detail.

@FreddieUK The question was about the Bible.
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@22MichelleI know. And I pointed out the different attitudes to it and another religion's scripture.

@FreddieUK No, you're reply started talking about the Islamic faith, which is just an attempt to muddy the waters. Stick to
the point.

@22Michelle Then the end of my reply dealt with it. So I'll repeat it for clarity.

Most Christians will speak of the text of the Bible as ‘inspired’ by God, but some add that it is inerrant while allowing for further interpretation as knowledge of the times in which they emerged and the discovery of new scrolls to clarify detail.

This is different from saying/believing that God wrote it.

@FreddieUK Strange then that most people I've encountered hold that God wrote the Bible
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@22Michelle It is indeed. It is not the view of mainstream Christian scholars and you won't find that formula in any historical Christian creeds.

@FreddieUK Not interested, it's all made up shit.

@22Michelle That's fine. You are as entitled to your view as I am to mine. But we are on a discussion forum.
