Right Or Wrong Beliefs

Genuine question:

Is there a right or wrong way to believe the Bible?

For context:

I am talking to someone on TikTok, and apparently while we were chatting, the more we chatted, the more this person made me question whether I was believing the scriptures that I know incorrectly. This person was making me doubt the way I understand Bible Verses, and I don't know if it is right to feel uncomfortable about what is happening, but I feel uncomfortable because I don't understand if he is just trying to change my belief or what version of the Bible even this person is reading.

This is what makes me feel uncomfortable: This person said that He does not feel a genuine desire to share the words of God, in other words, he is being forced to share the words of God

My point is: Is there a right or wrong way to believe the Bible? Please enlighten me 😭 I don't want to be led in the wrong perspectives by people 😭

Let me give you an example:

Proverbs 3:5-6

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and not with your own understanding"

I believe that when you resent me this, you wrote it in a different version, so my question is, how do you understand this message? Because to me, I understand it as "Trust in the Lord no matter what happens because you might not understand why you are experiencing what you are experiencing right now, but the Lord knows why you are experiencing what you are experiencing, and He is telling you to trust in Him because His way is better"

Thank you

Online you will find every opinion about everything. For believing Christians, especially young ones like yourself, it's best to learn within a fellowship with some historical roots. First rule: know what the Bible says for yourself, not what someone tells you it says. Once you've got that you're in a place to discuss with people about possible interpretations. They will always be Christians who tell you you're absolutely wrong alongside those who will convince you that you must never deviate from the views you were taught initially. Then there are those who will tell you that there is only one way to interpret scripture (guess who's that would be?) and make you feel guilty because you don't agree with them. Read, pray and listen to what God's telling you.

@JesusIsWithMe I don’t remember advising you on any scripture, but your understanding of this would be the same as mine.

@FreddieUK the reason why I understand it the way I understand it is because I just process it the way I read it
