How tall are the angels, according to the Bible?

The Bible describes angels in a variety of ways, including their height, features, and abilities:

Cherubim

In 1 Kings 6:23-28, cherubim are described as gigantic angel-like figures that are 15 feet tall, with wings that are also 15 feet long.

Nephilim

The Nephilim are mysterious beings that are traditionally described as being of great size and strength. Some speculate that they may have been 10-15 feet tall.

Angels in General

Angels are oftentimes described with human qualities, such as speaking like people and having human-sounding names. They also do not appear to have wings.

Seraphim

In Isaiah 6:2, seraphim are described as having six wings, with two wings used to cover their faces, two wings used to cover their feet, and two wings used for flying.

Archangel Michael

A "chief angel" who will lead a war against Satan in the end times.

Lucifer

A fallen angel who became known as Satan, after rebelling against God. The Bible describes his appearance, but not how tall he is.

Hebrews 13:2 in the Bible, says that some people have entertained angels without knowing it:

Hebrews 13:2: "Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for some have entertained angels without knowing it."

This verse demonstrates that angels can appear as human beings, and don't have wings.

Angels are spiritual beings that aren't bound by the laws of physics, so they don't need wings to fly. The Bible often presents angels as appearing as human beings, but this doesn't indicate that angels resemble human beings.

Rank: The number of wings could be a form of insignia or rank within the hierarchical structure of angels. Seraphim are considered the highest rank of angels.

I appreciate your posts on Angels according to the Bible.

However, you mention the Seraphiel from 3 Enoch.

This is a non-canonical book that is not found in the Bible. I was surprised you included it.
@OverTheHill Yeeees, and I'll tell you why I did that. You caught that and I'm surprised anyone did hahaha. You're smart! Here was my thinking on that. I know it's a non-canical book, and that means only that it was not accepted as part of the Bible at that time, and I got to wondering if any of the non-canical scriptures that were not thought to be part of the Bible at that time, had any truth to them at all, because just because back then they didn't consider them as part of the Bible, cuz you know back then some were really superstitious, and it was a whole new thing to them, so I'm wondering if The Book of Enoch should have been part of the Bible. And since that group of angels were mentioned, I found that very interesting, and I wondered why they would not include that particular group of angels, and so I did put the group in there and I don't think I can really say it's not part of the Bible. Can you? I just wonder. I hesitated to put that but for some reason I feel that should be looked into, wouldn't you agree? I have not read The Book of Enoch and I plan on doing that, to see why it was rejected as part of the Bible. That will be very interesting, so you're very "right on". I wasn't quite sure if I should add it or not. At first I thought no, but then I thought well it was in The Book of Enoch that was in the Bible, so I think I'll add it and then do some deep study on it. So how do you feel about that now? We don't really know why these people decided Enoch was not part of the Bible. I wonder who felt God gave them that authority, because there's a verse in the Bible that says we should not add or take away from what was given in the Bible, and I'm thinking if that was in the Bible at one time, why would they throw that out? That's very interesting I think. So I hope you'll forgive me this one time because why would that name have been in there, if God had not wanted it in there? Don't you think this is awfully interesting? I hope I did the right thing here. I'm not quite sure. I'm thinking now that I will take that out, until I can really dig into this. What do you think? Is that the right thing to do? Would it be right to take out what God had put in? And what God had given us, have been right to take that out? What do you think on this, brother? Thank you for noticing. Very good. Very good! 🙏

@OverTheHill
I didn't know that..

@LadyGrace
I hope you leave it in... as You say God intended it to be there !
@Snuffy1957 @OverTheHill well I'll tell you what. I decided to take that part completely down, because if we're not sure, then we shouldn't put it in content. I don't want to put things here that are not in the Bible and that was the only part that I wasn't sure about. This is not right.

@LadyGrace
If that's the case then you made the right decision 🙂
@Snuffy1957 Oh yes! And I'm thankful to over the hill for pointing that out to me. That was not right and I told the Lord I was sorry for that
@OverTheHill @Snuffy1957 I'm thinking, that is part of the Bible and in fact, it was part of the Bible, or they wouldn't have decided to take it out! And who gave them that authority? Who? Was that the right thing to do? Were they right to do it? The Bible says very clearly not to add or take away from it. So were they right to do that? I'm still wondering who gave them the authority to do such a thing. What kind of people were these the thought they could do that? I don't believe God gave them the authority to do that.

And Enoch is definitely in the Bible and if he had something to say, I would love to hear it. He was very important. He walked with the Lord and he was so holy that God took him to heaven without him even dying!
@Snuffy1957 I think you missed the last part of my message that I just added so here it is again. Your thoughts?

And Enoch is definitely in the Bible and if he had something to say, I would love to hear it. He was very important. He walked with the Lord and he was so holy that God took him to heaven without him even dying!

@LadyGrace
That is what I got out of it to begin with... Seems LOTS of people have such a high opinion of themselves that they don't feel the need to honor God's wishes... that's dangerous behavior!
Snuffy1957 · 61-69, M
@LadyGrace
I would love to hear it myself!!
Wow... He got to see Heaven without even dying!! How Very WONDERFUL
@Snuffy1957 Yeeeees!!!! Isn't that just wonderful to even think about?!!! I love it!
Iwillwait · M
@LadyGrace I often wondered the very same about all the scriptures, books that have not been chosen to be part of The Holy Bible.
@Iwillwait yes! Who gave these people permission to steal out of the Bible what God had put in? That's a huge question. I want to know the answer to that myself. They had no right to do that. What did they steal from us that we needed to know? We know that so many people in those days were superstitious. By what authority do they have the right to take these books out so we could not read them? I don't think God's happy with that. In fact in the book of Revelation, he said if any person adds or takes away from this part of my Book, let them be ACCURSED!!!
Snuffy1957 · 61-69, M
@LadyGrace
Absolutely!!
Iwillwait · M
@LadyGrace My ignorance may it shine through by this statement: I believe there are many manuscripts, writings, stories and scrolls lost in the sands of time that are all telling, sharing of the Glory's of God's Word, and History.
@Iwillwait
No brother. There is no ignorance in you. If there is any ignorance at all in us, it is because of no fault of our own, by people who decided to steal information from us. I believe the same thing you do.
OverTheHill · 61-69, M
@LadyGrace I know you are always careful handling the Scriptures (a workwoman need not be ashamed 😉).

Jude references Enoch in his Epistle. So the Lord allowed a truth from that book to be shared.

We might be able to learn from extra biblical writings, but they do not carry the same truth or authority of the Scriptures.
@OverTheHill Truthfully sir, I'm not sure if they do or not, because I don't know the people who took them out or if we'll ever know the real reason why. I'm not sure they had the authority to do that. If they were part of the Bible before, I doubt God gave them the authority to take anything out. Even in the Book of Revelation it talks about whoever adds or takes away from the Bible, shall be cursed, and they did that, so I don't know if we can say it doesn't carry the same truth or authority because it was in the scriptures and part of the scriptures before man decided it should be taken out.

I like that first cute little note you added. hahaha
