I installed central AC in our home, I installed it in my Mothers home, I service the AC in my three cars.. I installed it in the sailboat, I got and installed a very sweet AC window unit in our younger Daughters apartment- its silent when it runs a split unit with the compressor and condenser fan outside and a long squirrel cage fan on the evaporator inside... When I was a young man I was taught by a professional how to service, build and repair AC units.. its been a very useful skill over the years..
In terms of thanking G-d... I have many blessings to be grateful for, sometimes its difficult to encompass them all... Its easier to realize that everything on this earth is his, we are just lent a small portion of it for our time here.. When the earth was created, every single thing we required was placed on this earth, aluminium, steel, every chemical ingredient... ALL of what we use to make things was put on this earth for us to make use of... So its not just AC you need to give him thanks for... its EVERYTHING we have..

@pdqsailor1 nice? do you know how to fix the large window unit types? we had to buy new ones recently 😬 expensive stuff .. we had central air at out old house we just have a large window type unit now for our tiny house ..

@GoFish The answer is yes but often the parts are worth more than the unit is worth.. The way I got my Daughters fancy window unit - is a high capacity air conditioner....... it was a friends and there was a recall on it.. despite there being nothing wrong with it.. To get her money back they wanted a picture of the unit with the power cord cut off close to the unit.. that was how it was given to me.. The engineers knew exactly what they were doing.. To put a new power cord in took me five hours to disassemble most of the unit... install a new cord and then re-assemble the unit.. I did it perfectly but at todays rates no one would spend that much money installing a new cord... Because it was for my Daughter - I did it and it worked perfectly so for five hours of my time and me installing it in her window ... it was worth it.. We get some incredibly hot days and she was profoundly grateful to have it... This particular one is beyond quiet... I have in the room free standing units as emergency units.. I put one of them in my Mothers bedroom as the upstairs in her house is a problem - an open stair case so the cold air falls from upstairs to the basement and the hottest air in the house is on the second floor... The fix for that house is to put a small central unit in the attic and keep the bedroom doors closed... A similar way to how I put central AC in our house with ducts run in the attic space .. we have hot water radiator heating so no ductwork.. This system of AC is probably the best possible - its silent and very efficient...
