It's not just happening in America. I recognise this is happening in most British churches where Christianity often looks like attending once a week on a Sunday, hearing some comfortable scripture and singing and few hymns but I still have a few concerns.
How do we share the gospel with new church attendees in a gentle way so that they might eventually come to know Jesus? Most new Christians are not ready to hear "repent or perish" Christianity and we risk them leaving before we can even hope to go deeper?
My aim has always been to encourage relationship not religion. Relationship, whether it's with God or with people, always develops slowly so shouldn't church be a gentle experience that is encouraging for everyone, regardless of where we are in our faith journey?
Deeper and more challenging aspects of Christianity are perhaps better explored through Bible study discussion groups maybe.

@OutoftheGloom I think most people who want tickled ears will leave if we teach the whole counsel of God. They don't want the truth, and they will never be saved anyway. Let them go. For true revival we need to let people know the truth that we are the last generation and be prepared for Jesus coming or perish!

This. This is what started watered down seeker sensitive churches.
People need to hear the Gospel as is.
We need to learn we have no part in people's salvation, this was decreed in eternity past (Ephesians 1:5).

Yeah and the main Christian poster on here actually does this.

I agree with the point that too many times that humanism is mixed with Christianity to the point that the message is adulterated and confused.
I am not sure how they conclude that MTV has indoctrinated 4 out of 10 senior pastors into believing this humanistic theism.
