Quiet Conversations with God [Entry #4] - [James 1:12]
James 1:12 [NLT] - “God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him.”
Tonight, I'm letting this verse settle over me. Perseverance feels different at the end of the day, when everything I pushed through finally catches up and my spirit feel exhausted. James 1:12 reminds me that God sees every moment I kept going, even when it wasn't easy.
Some days don't unfold the way I hoped. Maybe I didn’t finish everything. Maybe discouragement tried to slip in. Maybe I had to push through moments where giving up felt easier than pressing forward. But perseverance isn’t about perfection; it’s about continuing with God’s help.
Galatians 6:9 [NLT] says this: "So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”
This alone gives me that gentle nudge: God honors the effort. He honors the quiet endurance nobody else sees. He honors the consistency. Perseverance plants seeds, even when I can’t see the harvest yet. So as I end this day, I’m releasing the heaviness and pressure I carried. I’m acknowledging the strength it took just to make it through. And I’m trusting that God is working behind the scenes, even in the slow places where I feel stuck.
Sovereign Lord, O God, thank you for giving endurance when I felt weak in spirit. Thank you for reminding me that perseverance has purpose. As I rest tonight, strengthen my heart for tomorrow. Help me keep going with grace, patience, and faith. Amen! xoxo.
