I've actually wrestled with this same idea before, and after sitting with Scripture and letting the Holy Spirit guide my understanding, I realized God never needed a "reset button" per se, because His love honors human free will rather than erasing it.
Even though He knows the future perfectly (Isaiah 46:10), He chooses not to interfere with every decision, because real love gives room for real choice. Some would argue though, that if God is all-powerful and knowing, He could have stopped Eve from eating of the fruit; but the Bible shows that Christ was already part of God's plan "from the foundation of the world" (Revelation 13:8). Which is not a bad argument to make, it is something that most would have a question towards as I have myself.
However, by allowing humanity to choose; even when those choices lead to brokenness; He reveals a love that is patient, redemptive, and deeply relational (Deuteronomy 30:19). Instead of resetting humanity, He sent Jesus to restore us, proving that His goal was never control, but reconciliation.
I encourage you to keep asking questions. Seeking understanding is part of growing in faith, and God is not threatened by honest curiosity; He invites it. (1 Chronicles 28:9) Questions open the door for deeper wisdom, stronger faith, and a more intimate walk with Him.
