A beautiful note on church.... and a possible new responsibility.
For all of the working week, as soon as I heard, and lots of this weekend I was dreading an event at work- on a day next week I will be managing all incoming calls from the EMEA market. By myself. When there's usually several people.
I woke up with that feeling of almost suffocating on something and barely got any sleep.
Then came church today with my pastor- how he preached on God's sovereignty in his usual style. I am already feeling better- I know I need encouragement from other believers as I am human- (1 Thessalonians 5:11).
Another thing to note- during the sermon he said Satan hates believers going to Gospel preaching churches (1 Thessalonians 2:18 ).
So (as my pasor said) let us think logically- if Satan hates us going to a faithful, Bible believing church he must love the actions of "lone wolf Christians".
And following on from the above in my own personal words he (Satan) must love it when proffesing believers treat SW like church and as a replacement to church. Cringily saying on here "Love you bro" to a stranger's posts (a stranger you will never meet) is not fellowship. An in person gathering at a local Gospel church is fellowship.
When I lived with my parents, on the occasions we went to all inclusives with my family , I have seen the beauties of the landscapes of Portugal, Greece, Cuba, Dom Rep, Cyprus,etc (and Zambia with my wife, on a sunset cruise on the Zambezi river).
But following on from the above my pastor reminded us a nice view like mt Everest isn't the closest picture of heaven on earth- being in a Gospel preaching, Bible believing church is (Hebrews 12:22–24).
Oh and Christians please do pray for me- the pastor of my church is asking if I want to be a deacon there. Pray I may glorify God if I do and manage the position along with my full time job.
