To all of you patriotic, “God bless America” type Christians: you should be aware of what America is really about and how God views countries:
“All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity." - Isaiah 40:17. ALL Nations. This idolization of America and this patriotism, this neocon war loving attitude is completely unscriptural. Aside from Americas imperialism, its foreign policy of military expansionism straight out of the mafia; from it being the source of the shedding of an untold amount of innocent blood, of much misery and tears around the world because of its terrorism; aside from it becoming a grotesque police state bureaucracy regulating our every move; the USA, the United States of Advertising, has also become one of the greatest sin capitols of the world, promoting and spreading the abomination and deathstyle of sodomy, as well as fornication, drunkenness and all manner of wickedness, spreading all their smut entertainment and sorcery and witchcraft in films and music across the world. Their saturation of the airwaves with materialism, manipulative and hedonistic marketing, consumerism, superficiality, and the "me, me, me" mindset, where those who die with the most toys wins. A dope nation, one giant shopping mall, a big transcontinental commercial cesspool that revels in the growing number of abortions and all the sexual immorality.
And you're gonna sit here and say, "God bless America"? Give me a break. God's not going to bless America because this nation is not turning away from its sin. You must turn the nation from sin or it's gonna go down the toilet. That's what the Bible says every chapter of the book of Jeremiah.
Jeremiah 33:8 - And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me.
That's the problem - sin. Why did the judgement come in the first place?
Jeremiah 33:5 - They come to fight with the Chaldeans, but it is to fill them with the dead bodies of men, whom I have slain in mine anger and in my fury, and for all whose wickedness I have hid my face from this city.
You know why God's not gonna bless America? Because of fornication. God looks down and calls that the filthiness of fornication. God looks down and he sees all the divorce and remarriage and He says it's adultery. God looks down and He sees all the drunkenness, He sees all the abortion, the covetousness, the greed, the selfishness, the laziness, the complacency of God's people. God is angry at America. He's not going to bless America while it's doing all of this.
Psalms 9:17 - The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
2 Chronicles 7:14 - If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
America is not humbling itself or seeking God and turning from their wicked ways. So maybe we should pray that it won't rain for 3 and a half years like Elijah. Maybe we should pray for droughts, for famine, for pestilence, for economic recession and depression, because maybe if this people is no longer prosperous and instead is going through suffering, they will finally humble themselves, be brought to their knees and turn to God. Maybe will finally listen to the Gospel and get saved.
Many think of themselves as loyal patriots to their country and their party when they are merely too scared to stand up for themselves, for righteousness and for others. God’s wrath is on America to the utmost. America is mystery Babylon described in the Revelation, as the UN is the seat of global power and sits right here in New York City. You won't be offended if you recognize that you are of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, not the god of Washington, Jefferson, and Lincoln.
Not to mention, a majority of our founding fathers were not Christians, but mainly deists and many were rabidly anti-Christian. I mean, look at what Jefferson did: he made his own bible where he removed all of the scriptures dealing with miracles and supernatural events. Complete heretic. Thomas Jefferson, Ben franklin, George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Paine, James Madison and many others spoke out harshly against Christianity. Yet for some reason, a majority of American Christians look up to the founding fathers. America has never been and certainly isn't now a Christian nation. Christians, we should never be proud to be an American and of accomplishments we had no part in nor should any citizen of any country for that matter, but only be proud of being a Christian - born again believer saved by the blood of Christ and able to be apart of the spiritual city - the heavenly Jerusalem. That's the only citizenship worth being proud of.
