When a dead church member goes to a living church...

Now I'm no longer monotonously doing sermon and Bible study notes, I can write articles from the heart like this and think more about these incidents.

You remember the elderly Guyanan lady who goes to our church? The one who my wife and I affectionately call our grandma in Christ? She brought her neighbour with her.

The neighbour goes to a very dead church- incense, chanting, a "sermon" about the vicar growing up as a child and the stories of his neighbour (you know that boring dead church sermon).

Well, our Gunayan 'grandma' brings her neighbour to our church and you know what my pastor is like- bold- sermons on sin, judgement, the importance of fellowship, etc.

The neighbour spent half the sermon.......... crying. Not out of distress but as she later told our Guyanan 'grandma', because she was so moved about hearing the Gospel, our suffering brothers and sisters, God's glory, etc. She had simply never heard it put that way.

Please pray for her, that she, if she hasn't already, comes to a saving knowledge of Christ and that she continues attending our church, a church that isn't afraid to boldly preach the Gospel and has a pastor that cares for and loves his flock.
