Characters- the preacher from Arkansas

As you know I like to introduce you guys to significant characters I know from church.

I told you he was Southern but couldn't tell you the accent, Arkansas it turns out. Rural Arkansas. I showed you highlights of his sermon about Jonah and Jesus he did on Saturday.

"Hello brother" his friendly Arkansas accent cuts through the crowd as he greets another pastor in the organisation at the church party outdoors, plate of food in his hand, my pastor then, after almost three years (even before membership) of wanting too, gets to finally introduce me to him.

It really was a blessing getting to meet him, you know how much my pastor has been spiritually refreshing to my wife and I, well, now I got to meet his own spiritual mentor! He was also mentioned in the church anniversary speech as having spiritually refreshed this African majority church when they were at their lowest.

Your country has sadly lost him, and I'm sure his former Arkansas congregation miss him, but I assure you he has been such a blessing to us in the UK.

I'm sure he couldn't have imagined from his rural Arkansas upbringing one day running a church organisation with a Bemba Zambian (separate to the Zambian pastor of the church mentioned and my wife, this organisation sure loves Zambians 😅).

What a blessing God's plan is in our lives, and the unexpected places it can lead us!

And no, I forgot to ask him what he thought of the Jollof rice 🤭
