A PSA on a "true man"
Is your life worthless?
I get it. It is frustrating when a huge Christian poster on here says things like "you're so amazing" and obsesses about "self love". It's frankly weird and has nothing to do with the Gospel.
But..... a poster on here has gone the opposite extreme- he says humans are pathetic creatures whose lives have no value and their lives are worthless (he speaks of those outside of Christ).
A key thing he doesn't think of here is first we are ALL (unbelievers and believers) image bearers of God (Genesis 1:27).
Next off if we were all worthless to God, God certainly wouldn't give unbelievers common graces like happiness, marriage, children, achievements, etc (Matthew 5:45).
Lastly the author of said post might like to remember he was an unbeliever once and God loved him so much that He sent His Son on the cross to die for Him (John 3:16).
So while we are all sinners unworthy of saving grace, God still sent His Son to die for us so that those who trust in Him will not go to hell and get to spend an eternity with Him, showing God's love to us and that our lives do indeed matter to God.
God Regrets???????
The author misuses Genesis 6 to say God regrets creating us. If this is true, God isn't God. This shows the author has a very low view of God's sovereignty.
I have regrets about things I have done and I know you do too but our Triune Thrice Holy God, unlike me or you, does not regret.
The language of Genesis 6 about God "regretting" "repenting" etc is an example of anthropomorphic language about God- think the "hand of God" etc to help explain the unexplainable God. He certainly grieved in the sense of our sin but He absolutely did not regret.
Why? God does not change (Malachi 3:6) and He has already decreed what will happen since eternity past (Isaiah 46:10) Note He does not decree our sin.
Unlike us God knows since eternity past exactly what will happen to us today, next week, next year, on our deathbeds, so it is logically and scripturally impossible for God to regret in the sense we do.
