Easter has gone.....
Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday have come and gone, along with all the virtue signaling posts from people who rarely, if ever, give a thought about Christ's death and resurrection.
Lots of these people here will now resume their obsession with politics, mostly MAGA and act like American Conservatism is the Gospel itself. A certain individual even messaged me saying Usha Vance was saved, even though she has no interest in Christ! Why? No doubt because she's on the right side of US politics. Yes the far left misuse Christianity too but they are far easier to refute, and many decent evangelists seem to have fallen into the trap of conservative idolatry.
Posts which simply mention Christ's death and this alone will get likes but because of a subtlety. Notice they never mention the sacraments, attending church and reading the Bible daily? It appears they unintentionally encourage mental ascent and that's it.
Don't get me wrong- God absolutely does not base our eternal salvation on our performance (otherwise we'd all fail), that would be an insult to His (God the Son's) death on the cross for those who trust in Him, and yes He saves us just as we are. But He loves us believers too much to not radically change us.
If you claim to follow Christ but do not attend church (Hebrews 10:24–25) , have a distinct love for other believers (1 John 3:14) or read His Word daily (Matthew 4:4; Psalm 1:2), let's be honest, it's highly likely you're not a Christian.
See, the Sandemanian "Just believe" posts are so popular because they appeal to what many countries with an "evangelical culture" do, just simply treat Jesus as a add on accessory, like a video game expansion. Oh no, don't make Jesus the centre of your life, that's legalism... and it's bad for your self love 😂😂😂
Once again, because the Sandemanian influence is strong in this place I will repeat, we cannot earn our place in heaven and we are NEVER justified by our works, however if we are truly saved by trusting in Christ's death on the cross for us, we WILL bear fruit (James 2:26).
