Study based on Luke 22.
. Would we not be the same as Peter in this situation? Be honest.
. "Watch and pray" is where the church in the West needs to be at. Overconfidence= prayerlessness= disobedience. (When I saw a Christian post containing "My truth" "My worth" "My voice" etc this point the visiting pastor made really hit, these words would not be understood in the vast majority of world cultures, let alone in a Gospel church ).
. We tend to think of our past sins but all of our sins were in the future from eternity past, yet to be committed and yet Christ still died for us.
. A strange assurance for Peter, that Christ already knew Peter would deny Him and yet Christ still died for him and made him an apostle.
. What kind of a look did Christ give Peter when Peter denied Him? "Told you so?" anger? Accusation? No, compassion. When Christ's sacred blood stained face looked with compassion on Peter, Peter went out and wept.
. Let us remember Christ's light and His compassionate face when we sin.
. No matter how far you have fallen, come back to Him, He will heal you.
