I really appreciate your question— and what a great one it is! It’s a thoughtful one, and it’s obvious you want to understand what Scripture teaches.

When I look at the Bible as a whole, especially the book of Hebrews, what stands out to me is that Jesus completely fulfilled the role of the priesthood. In the Old Testament, priests had to offer sacrifices daily, over and over, and those sacrifices were never final. But Hebrews explains that Jesus offered Himself once for all, and His sacrifice was perfect and complete (Hebrews 7:27; 10:11–14).

Because of that, we no longer need a human priesthood to act as an intercessor between God and man. Scripture tells us that there is now one mediator between God and mankind—Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 2:5). He didn’t just make a way—He is the way.

What I find especially comforting is that while His sacrifice is finished, His care for us never ends. Hebrews 7:25 says He always lives to intercede for us. So we don’t have repeated sacrifices anymore, but we do have a living Savior who continually brings us before the Father.

From this perspective, the question isn’t really whether a woman or a man can be a priest—because Scripture shows us that a human priest isn’t needed anymore. Jesus is our final High Priest, and through Him we have direct access to God.

I hope that makes sense, and I really appreciate the chance to think this through together.
