Yes it has been going on for quite a while now. Friends of mine from church were driven out of Iran in the 1990s. They converted to Christianity from Islam. Their church was attacked and their pastor was martyred. They fled and came to Canada. They have kept in touch with family in Iran (those who will still speak to them) and they report that things have changed a lot in the nearly 30 years since they fled. Their family said that they would likely be accepted now but they have been in Canada for so many years they have no desire to go back.

@jshm2 Christianity has been growing in Iran despite terrible persecution from the state, the international Christian community has been praying for them, many muslims are having dreams about Jesus. Try googling Christians in iran and do a bit of research, some interesting videos on there too
