Sermon Notes 08/03/26
Sermon based on Acts 17:1-9
. Bank notes, art works, etc can be forged. Likewise many "churches" can be forgeries and not the real deal- liberal theology, no Gospel, etc.
. Why did God send Paul to Thessalonica? God had His people there. His people He would call since eternity past. Not might, not maybe, God DOES!!!
. If your church is a faithful Gospel church think of it's history- God had His people in that era and He used them to build up your church.
. Military operations are planned months in advance. They MUST be obeyed- how much more God's plans!
. "God waits for sinners' conversion, and so must His ministers" Matthew Henry
. Do you have unsaved relatives? Yes. Is it a burden? Yes. God knows. He will save His people in His perfect timing.
. The Gospel draws His people to Christ and draws His enemies away from Christ!
. On this occasion Paul's accusers were actually correct! With the Gospel he indeed turned the world upside down- he turned the people from their dead idols to the living God! Have you turned away from your dead idols- ANYTHING you put before God.
. Paul's accusers were also right about what Paul said about Christ- Christ is indeed King!
