Praise and Gospel Churches
Recently in the news Ian Huntley and the Ayatollah of Iran went to stand before Christ.
The second the Ayatollah got struck by a air strike, he stood before the true Triune God of the universe. The Ayatollah has now learnt he rejected the Saviour and therefore rejected the true God of the universe, not only that but God's fury is against him as he DARED to persecute Christ's church and Christ's treasured possession, His people (Christians) in Iran. The Ayatollah is now screaming in hell, in eternal torment, in the presence of the angels and of the Lamb (Revelation 14:10).
Ian Huntley thought it was funny to mock the girls he killed by wearing a Man U shirt in prison (the team the girls supported). Well, I guarantee he is not laughing now and he wasn't when he stood before the infinitely glorious God of the universe! The bashing he received in jail was nothing compared to God's fury that is now against him.
A Gospel church does not get praise from people. If a church gets praise from the world that is a HUGE red flag. Saying that those who reject Christ crucified will burn in hell is not a feel good statement but it is true. As my pastor said in yesterday's sermon any pastor who does not preach the Gospel is a coward not called to pastor.
