Sheffield United... and our identity in Christ

Plenty of fond memories when my dad and I drive up to Sheffield to watch United play.

When my dad and I talk to other United fans at a cafe and in the seats in Bramall Lane before the match I notice something- my dad has a warm bond with them.

Me? It's like colleagues, maybe friends at best, I have experienced the bond with other believers in Christ and no worldly bond compares to it- yes even fellow believers who support Sheffield Wednesday 🤭

Which brings me to what my pastor told us during the week's Bible Study.

My pastor was at a library preparing sermon notes for a Bible study and he saw a man aged 20 reading his Bible.

My pastor introduces himself and talks to the man, after talking, my pastor prints him some full Bible Study notes from previous weeks and they exchange numbers. Such is the bond those in Christ have towards one another.

Remember the words of Christ in John 13:35- this applies to love believers have for one another.

And yes on another note- today AFTER the worship service and just before fellowship I will be checking to see how we will be doing against Wednesday- score will be pinned on my phone screen. 🤭

Below- the scene my pastor described using ChatGPT- fairly accurate, very much so with the young guy but it picks up too much on my pastor's tiny amount of greys and makes him look much older.

Great timing for this post- a great Bible study my favourite Christian YouTuber has done on Christian love for other Christians.

I pray his sons truly see the blessing of having such a dad.
