Sermon Notes 08/02/26
Sermon based on 2nd Kings 1.
. Forget consulting a fortune teller, etc about the future- God ordains the future!!!!!
. King Ahaziah did not fall out of the lattice by chance- God's displeasure was upon him.
. Every day God's wrath is being stored up against sinners outside of Christ. It is like a volcano soon to erupt.
. Be on the right side of God, repent and turn to Christ today.
. "A man's house is his castle, but not to secure him against the judgments of God" Matthew Henry on 2nd Kings 1
. We don't do interfaith services in our church- Christ does not mix with Belial!
. The third captain of the fifty men begged for God's mercy- will you?
.My pastor talked about some contemporary issues and put them in light of Scripture. "God's Word ain't changin *my town*" he loudly declared.
. "Be of good comfort, Master Ridley, and play the man; we shall this day light such a candle, by God's grace, in England, as I trust shall never be put out." Hugh Latimer. What a great quote about the protestant reformation in England- indeed the candle hasn't gone out.
. As per 2nd Kings 1 you don't want to be on the wrong side of almighty God. Come to Christ, he is mighty to save!
. In our Christian walk we WILL have fires to walk through yet, it will be a bumpy ride but He will deliver us safely. He reigns!
