"Give up everything and follow me". What does this mean?

Will you do it? Can you do it? The homeless have nothing. Where are they going?

The whole point of that scripture is to reveal that no one gives up everything for God.. Thats why we need the grace of God.. His atonement..

I don't think it is possible to give up anything unless and until we are able to give up everything.

Relax, I'm talking about the message, not you in particular. I hate people who try and force issues, or try and run roughshod . Hence why I hate expressions like "just follow me".

Frankly, I don't think it was any particular person who came out with that "follow me" message. It was part of a script in a movie I watched. Max von Sydow, the actor, said it. That message stayed with me.
