- By no means everyone in either country is Christian, or indeed religious.
- Religion and politics are deeply entwined in both countries, often reinforced with hard-line bigotry of both faith and politics.
That deals with Russia and America....
As for "world peace", Christianity is of course not the only religion in the world, and none are necessarily any better or worse than any other. Some regimes are hard-line anti-religious while others are theocracies run by small-minded men who assume that their way is the is the only way, and distrust and despise all others.
We will not find peace based on religion unless all faiths, their denominations and non-believers alike, all agree to allow and respect all others.
That's not the fault of religion per se, but of those who find it a useful weapon of control.
