Is self pleasure a sin

I am divorced and we are all human and it's natural to get those happy feelings but is it a sin to self pleasure ?

What is someone supposed to do when these feelings come to the surface . Do you just struggle and distract yourself ?

I am not always innocent but try my best to honor God and not to sin . I am sure others fight this battle but how ?

this is one of those "glad I am an atheist moments" for me but I want to be compassionate to your question.

but to put your quesiton into context for C'hristians,
1) your divorce was probably a sin
2) everytime you had sex outside of marriage it probably was a sin
3) Everytime you had sex with your ex without the goal of pro-creation you probably sinned
4) everytime you checked out a attractive married women you probably sinned (covet thy neighbors wife)

in that idea drawing the line at masturbation seems almost trivial by comparision.

there are a bunch of C'hristians on here who will eventually respond or may pm you but for your introspection (don't have to reply in public) why

1) did you come on a largely secular website to ask this question ?
2) Can you confide in your church buddies in real life instead and if not why not?
3) If you did 1-4 why do you draw the line as masturbation but not in the others listed?
4) what did you buddy JC say when you spoke to him in prayer and whatever he said why did feel the need to validate whatever that dude said here?

Either way hope you and JC work it out but to answer your question you can
1) put ice pack on your croutch when you get aroused for a few min
2) not watch porn or other enticing things (actually this site is pretty sexual in alot of places)
3) redirect your turn on time to a impromptu bible study session for you after doing 20 jumping jacks to redirect your brain
4) do whatever those dude on no flap websites ramble about (they are mostly christians)
5) follow the threads on christian mingle, e harmony and other christian dating sites for a better yeild than you will get here
