God's works of old

I always think of God's work in the past- and God's work that is not known to us.

The story lots of you liked about the pastor recieving the bread in his hour of hunger and need? That was from a book in the public domain called "Mercies of a covenant God".

God's works will also appear in out of print books we never knew existed, which is a cool thought. Lots of amazing books by 'Banner of Truth' were revived by them and otherwise would not have been known about.

Speaking of 'Banner Of Truth' I was reading a book containing the compilation of the first sixteen issues and in it they mentioned an organisation called The Evangelical Library which had helped them immensely, it was located at 78A Chiltern Street London, now home to a Pilates studio.

The Evangelical Library still exists but it's moved, let us focus on the works God did at 78A Chiltern Street, the works done of old, using the library to inspire countless sermons of pastors and inspire reverence of God in theology students.

Imagine the day the library moved, the time the staff/volunteers switched the lights off for the last time in that location, remembering the people God had used in that historic location to inspire others, the excited theology students, the pastors looking for inspiration, etc.

Did I mention my old office location was very near where Wesley had the revival and desire to spread the Gospel to other nations and people? The building no longer remains.

And let us conclude with this- God has done many works in people's lives we do not know of this side of eternity and he will do many great works yet!
