God's love, faith alone and discernment

God's love

Oh the world loves it when our posts keep parroting this don't they? Love, love, love. Don't get me wrong God is pure love- the purest love that could ever be, to infinity. But we must stop acting like love is God's only attribute- a simple scriptural search show His justice, wrath, anger, etc. All characteristics of God but we must also remember that the Bible uses anthropomorphical language about God to help us- if we could fully understand God, he wouldn't be God!

These sorts of posters say nonsense, sentimentalist rubbish like "judgement day will be God's saddest day". Rubbish!!!!!!! There is NO verse at all that says God will be sad to send those who reject Christ's sacrifice to hell. The simple fact is He must send those people to Hell because of His justice! The real question should be why He was so gracious to send anyone to Heaven- we truly have a God of unfathomable mercy.

Faith alone

The sorts of posters above, the type that just keep talking as if love is God's only attribute, always mention "God will take you as you are" (and even add onto this). They are right and praise God that God does take us as we are but notice something? They will often neglect to tell you that God loves you too much to keep you the way you are and they never mention growing and maturing in Christ, the necessity of joining a church and of taking the sacraments.

I would not DARE say my works justify me before God- Christ (God the Son) shed his blood on the cross for my sins and bore the wrath we deserve from God on the cross- why would I dare say we could anything to that, but the fact is, as per my reading of James this morning, if we truly believe ON Christ our works will show it (James 2:17). We will grow in holiness, we will attend a Gospel church and we will continue growing in hatred for our sin.

We do not come to Christ with a little prayer but we come believing on Him and his blood shed for us, begging for mercy we don't deserve!

Discernment

Oh how post 2016 we have lost our discernment! A Christian poster on here and her minion screamed at me like a banshee when I dared suggest Trump wasn't a Christian in a post because I posted a Justin Peters video showing this to be the case. Well now in 2025 we have a video of Trump on airforce one saying he doesn't think he'll make it to heaven. Well, he definitely won't until he believes on Christ, which if he did, he would know he was going to Heaven!

I used to get annoyed on here- why did some Christian posters on here get all the hearts and not me? This was actually useful and I'm glad now as I can say hard truths and controversial things (which are true). Not getting much encouragement was discouraging (and thankyou for those who do encourage my posts by hearting, commenting, etc) but this has reminded me in RL to always encourage my pastor and remind myself they need our encouragement.

Think the Trump discernment was controversial? I'll say stay away completely from Turning Point USA Faith and finish with this whopper (America's greatest pastor MacArthur was not as harsh as this guy but he still pointed critical and heretical views in Graham's ministry). If the world has a positive impression of a preacher this should sound alarm bells.....

Do you have discernment?
@Achelois I already know you don't.

Let me guess- you're going to quote some Bart Ehrman spiel about how the Bible has been changed by scribes over time?

@BritishFailedAesthetic

I do have discernment, maybe ask god for the truth.
@Achelois I have asked God for the truth.

@BritishFailedAesthetic

Keep listening then 😌
@Achelois I will. God has given me the Bible and from picking it up God always gives me gems about Himself.

@BritishFailedAesthetic

Ask again for the truth.
@Achelois I will. And He will let me grow in His word!

What are you then?
Achelois · F
@BritishFailedAesthetic what am I? What do you mean.
@Achelois What belief?

@BritishFailedAesthetic

I believe in god, I don’t believe Jesus is coming back to save you.
