Another inspiring pastor and Romans 8:32

So last night at the prayer meeting a group of gospel churches from the association met, I got talking to a pastor who now lives and has a church in the UK, he is originally from Myanmar. I read about the persecution of Christians in Myanmar before I even met my wife and now I know one.

A quick sidenote and funny story- when he first came to the UK he read an article about the old method of door evangelism and tried it out- he learnt that part of cultural differences even involved door knocking as the individual who answered started shouting at him and asked why he had knocked on the door in that way 😂 He also learned that heretical JWs here are associated with door knocking.

When he first started his church only his wife attended- Sunday after Sunday just giving sermons to her, his church was considered a lost cause. Well, know his church has around a 100 members with over 20 nationalities, with many seekers and guests attending each week- what a blessing from God!

Last night though when discussing how my life was going I mentioned about job searching- he instantly quoted Romans 8:32 to me and exposited it beautifully- saying that no matter how hard life seems, God sent his only Son (God the Son) to die for us to show how much he cares for us and that he works for good in all aspects of our trials.

Listening to him was so encouraging and refreshing- you had to be there and this shows how pastors have different God given talents in preaching- my main pastor specialises in smashing idols you are clinging onto by proclaiming God's holiness and sovereignty in amazing ways and the Myanmar pastor specialises in showing us different trials and phrases in life are to strengthen us in Him and are ultimately for God's glory.

Phew, that puts the mother in law coming to stay with us for awhile in perspective 🫩
