But I am a Christian not a Marionist. People love to set up idols that they think they can manipulate. Mary is just such an idol.

@hippyjoe1955 Read the early part of St Luke’s gospel.
And perhaps John 19, if you have time.
I assume you believe in the Incarnation.

@peterlee What do you think I will find in Luke or John that I don't already know? I am a Christian that is very familiar with scripture and none of it says I should be worshipping or venerating Mary. Wonderful woman. Had a very unique role to play in the redemption of mankind but still not queen of heaven or mother of God.

@hippyjoe1955 Jesus’s mother I believe.
Have a read if St John’s Gospel to find out who he is.
Don’t mock.
Where I choose to pray is up to me. Prayer is an essential part of life.

@peterlee Please go through the entire New Testament and tell me how many times Jesus called Mary "Mother".

@hippyjoe1955 Just rely on God’s grace and stop attacking me.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@peterlee You are the one doing the attacking. So how many times did Jesus call Mary "Mother"? Answer ZERO times. No where in the Gospel accounts did Jesus ever refer to Mary as mother. In fact He denied she was His mother once when she came to take charge of Him because she thought He had gone insane.

@hippyjoe1955 You have missed the whole point of what I am saying. I simply find it easy to pray there.
Yes, you can pray in a field or on a train, in a supermarket queue. But there are distractions, which you need to overcome. Or give a stimulus for prayer.
