Barnabas Aid Highlights/ Prayer Points Nov-Dec 2025

1. In Eritrea the government still regularly detains Christians without charge in brutal conditions like converted shipping containers. Despite these circumstances more Eritreans are turning to Christ. "God is doing amazing things in this Country said a pastor. This never ceases to amaze me- such risks yet so many more coming to Christ than in the West where we have freedom.

2. Pray for Christians in Kyrgyzstan- often denied water for their crops and livestock. A Kyrgyz Christian's advice? "In these moments, when we pray for overcoming adversities, the Lord God listens, directs and protects our prayers".

3. Pray for the plans of IS in Africa of creating a caliphate to fail- the Countries where there are many Christian casualties in the continent are particularly Nigeria, DRC and Mozambique.

4. Why does persecution of Christians happen? Because the world hates Christ.

A source of comfort for the persecuted church is that the enemies of the church are the enemies of Christ.

The persecuted church know that Christ isn't some carebear hippy but are familiar with 2nd Thessalonians 1: 7-10.

Christians who are persecuted share in the suffering of Christ and Christ identifies with his suffering people.

Let us finish point 4 with the puritan Bible commentator Matthew Henry "That which we should earnestly desire and beg of God for our enemies and persecutors is that God would bring them to repentance"

5. This issue also draws special attention to persecuted Christian women in the Middle East- they are subjected to displacement, domestic violence, forced marriage and systemic exclusion.

Abduction is another issue Christian women regularly face in the Middle East- during the rise of ISIL hundereds of Christian women were kidnapped, forced into slavery or forced into marriage.

It is amazing- despite risking everything Christian women in Countries like Saudi Arabia and Iran risk everything by hosting house groups, discipling new believers and raising their children in Christ.

6. ISCAP have so far murdered around 560 Christians in the DRC since Dec 2024, please pray for these attacks to stop and for the attackers to find Christ.

7. (My own point) This Christmas for your Christmas cards why not consider helping the persecuted church? If you're in the UK you can purchase Christmas cards to support Barnabas Aid at Just Cards Direct or Release International also sell Christmas cards and even Christmas decorations, should you feel like an impulse buy.

John 13:35
1 John 2:9–11
1 John 3:10
1 John 3:14–15
1 John 4:7–8
1 John 4:20–21

These verses will now be pinned in every article about the persecuted church for every proffesing Christian to read and why they should care about their persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ.

And now thanks to a certain world leader I also need to state I do not support Western military intervention in these Countries- that is for these nations to decide.
