I have just read that in the Apostolic Library in the Vatican a Muslim prayer rug has been placed!

If this Pope is selling out to Islam then it means the fall of Christendom, like was feared before Vienna in 1683. I fear that Catholic Christianity is under direct threat from some kind of fifth column.

Islam at the gates of Vienna" refers to the 1683 Ottoman siege of Vienna, a major conflict marking a turning point in the Ottoman Empire's expansion into Europe. An Ottoman army besieged the city, demanding its surrender, but was ultimately defeated by a combined Christian army led by Polish King John III Sobieski.

This event is seen as a halt to the Ottoman advance into Central Europe, and today, the phrase can also be used in discussions about the presence of Islam in modern Austria.

The historical 1683 siege
The siege: In July 1683, a large Ottoman army, led by Grand Vizier Kara Mustafa Pasha, arrived at Vienna and began a two-month siege. They demanded the city surrender, which was refused by the defending forces.

The battle: The siege was lifted on September 11, 1683, when a relief army of European forces, including Polish winged hussars, arrived and defeated the Ottomans.

Significance: The Battle of Vienna is considered a decisive victory for the Christian powers and marked the end of the Ottoman Empire's expansion into Europe. It was a turning point in the struggle between the Ottoman Empire and the Christian kingdoms of Central Europe.
Islam in modern Austria 🇦🇹

Modern presence: While the historical event was a clash of empires, today, Islam is present in Austria through its Muslim population, with a significant community in Vienna.

Islamic sites: Vienna is home to the Islamic Center mosque, which was built between 1975 and 1979.

The historical event is sometimes referenced in discussions about contemporary Austrian society and the integration of Muslim communities.

Although it like to think so, the Roman Catholic Church is not the sole repository of Christian Truth. When the Emperor Constantine decided to force a version of Christianity onto the entire Roman empire and call it Christendom, the faith was already compromised with politics. No-one can be forced to be a Christian, a mistake which is being made in the US at the moment by certain groups holding uncompromising ideas.

'Christian kingdoms' is an enormous misnomer. For the Christian there is but one Kingdom and one Lord. Confusing a state and its inherent political intrigue with the teaching's of Jesus is to me a heresy.

Thanks for the history, though. I was fascinated learning about it when visiting Austria. Context is always helpful.

I'm Catholic and believe me, the Church itself is suffering from an identity crisis and unless it fixes itself by preaching and teaching the words of Jesus Christ and the Gospels, the Catholic Church is looking at a a dark road ahead. We have to pray for the Church and for Christianity. ✝🙏✨

Perhaps the Vatican has Muslim employees or visiting scholars. I doubt they are selling out our western heritage.

@Crazywaterspring It’s a slippery slope. It’s a Christian building. Would they provide a chapel in a mosque if cleaners converted to Christ for their use? Most Muslims don’t observe five prayers a day because life doesn’t always allow them to in Western countries so they want Sharia to enable them to break their day in this way and undermine everything about modern quasi Christian societies.
