Wycliffe Bible Translators Highlights Nov 2025-Jan 2026

1. We learn of two sisters Phan and Pot from Cambodia who teach children the Bible through stories, worship songs, etc.

They have seen Jesus transforming lives with their own family and others too.

Phan and Pot lived with their grandfather who was an alcoholic, there was constant physical abuse and despite being school aged Phan and Pot could not go to school as he made them work.

Everything changed when a man travelled to their village and taught the family God's word and then everything changed in the family.

Phan and Pot's grandad stopped drinking and then he sent them off to school.

At present Phan and Pot teach children the Bible but can only teach them the New Testament in Bunong, as the Old Testament is not in that language.

Pray for the translation of the Old Testament to happen and that God can use Phan and Pot teach many children the things of Christ.

2. It was great to hear Wycliffe was at some Christian festivals and may they by God's grace show up at more.

We learn of a little boy who won a children's game at one of the festivals- the game involved finding a key hidden in sand with a time limit of 15 seconds, the key obviously symbolising God's word in a native language.

On being given his prize the little boy was shocked to learn that other children his age could not read the Bible as it wasn't in their language.

In response, the little boy eagerly dug into his pockets and pulled out two one pound coins to give to Wycliffe, using the little he had to give to an eternally priceless cause.

I myself found this story very moving, charity shown at such a young age. At that boy's age I'd have never thought of that- I'd have been to busy with the other boys throwing firecrackers at other children, we'd have been setting things on fire and leaving them at people's doors, etc. 😅
