City lights and God

The plane view of Portugal on yesterday's flight back and the lights of the town/city below.

God is sovereign over all those people's lives beneath the lights but I especially think of the works God is doing and the plans he has for the Portuguese brothers and sisters in Christ beneath those lights.

As I fly above the brothers and sisters in Christ, I know they are settled, living the life in Portugal God has called them to.

I was reading how evangelical/reformed Churches are growing in Portugal (AI confirmed this) and how Christ is building up his church there.

I will almost certainly never meet the Portuguese brothers and sisters in Christ beneath those lights in this life but I certainly will in the next.

It was sad to leave Portugal but as I crossed the UK border with my passport I was reminded that God has me in the UK exactly where he wants me and he has many exciting things to do in my life!

It's good that you have such a strong faith.

@BritishFailedAesthetic I think we only have to look at nature and life itself in how it's made to show we have a creator. I have what I call a quiet faith, I find people often feel uncomfortable in talking about God.
@enchantedautumn Yes, mentioning the Gospel and Christ (God the Son) shed his blood for our sins and that by believing on this we can avoid hell and spend an eternity in heaven can make things tricky!

@BritishFailedAesthetic There are quite a few things I don't believe, a lot being church doctrine for instance. But having a faith is a good thing and it's a pity people do not seem to give God a second thought these days.
