Brothers and sisters?

I’m now a lot more cautious about calling people “brother” and “sister” on here.

A poster mentioned getting upset at church because a lady said she would go to hell for missing a service. Both the poster and that lady should truly examine their own salvation—but I’ll explain why at the end of this post.

That same poster was called “sister” by a prominent Christian poster on here—yet that “sister” later quoted and applauded a Sufi mystic. So far, there’s no evidence she is truly a Christian; all evidence points the other way. Posting MAGA memes does not make someone a Christian.

Other professing Christians on here heart posts from users who claim to be believers but live contrary to God’s Word—and they know it! Hearting such posts unrelated to their lifestyle is one thing, but it becomes problematic when it appears to affirm ungodly lifestyles.

British cultural “Christians” are another concern. These are people who bring reproach to Christ’s name, often weaponizing it for far-right activism. Some of them repeatedly claim to be Christian yet only attend church for weddingsand funerals, they live their lives for social events like pub trips. Their lives bear little resemblance to genuine faith.

Another type is the superstitious cultural Christian. My sister and her fiancé experienced this when a lady at church frowned at them for not attending communion. If someone cannot understand why they cannot partake, they are likely attending church for tradition rather than true faith. Superstitious rules not grounded in Scripture should never be mistaken for genuine Christianity.

So why do I say some of these people cannot possibly be saved? Because there is only one way to be right with God. Every person is a sinner. God cannot allow sin into His presence, yet He sent Christ to bear the punishment meant for us. Christ’s blood, shed on the cross, satisfies God’s justice. On the cross, God's wrath, rightly meant for us, was poured out on Christ. On the third day, He was raised from the dead, proving He is God the Son.

Christ’s sacrifice is the only way to heaven. Accepting anything else—whether church attendance, tradition, or personal morality—cannot save. To reject Christ’s atoning work is to face eternal damnation. Accept Him as the only way to peace, or you will endure an unimaginable fate.
