Sermon Notes 31/08/25
The sermon focused on our liberty in Christ but that we shouldn't flaunt it to believers with a weaker conscience.
Indeed, why should we put unnecessary obstacles in the way of other believers woth weaker conscience?
Let us say, for example, alcohol. Nkthing wrong with drinking in moderation but if it troubles the conscience of a weak believer we should not drink in front of them. If we are doing things like this for weaker believers, we are serving Christ himself.
Other Points:
. Why despise Christian brothers and sisters whom God highly values?- even the difficult ones- Christ died for them too!
. The Lord Christ (God the Son) has made peace between two warring parties- sinful man and a Holy God!
.Don't mistake your joy for happiness- we can have ofcourse be sad (we're only human) but we have ultimate joy in our Triune God.
.We must remember in all these things and all others we have no righteousness of our own, only God's righteousness through Christ.
To conclude, it was a shame my wife and I had to rush off due to a family BBQ and having to pick up my mother in law, there were so many people there and I wanted to talk about a conference by the organisation in person.
We must remember- Christian fellowship with genuine believers is a tiny taster of heaven, which we are getting too one day closer each day if we are in Christ.
