The god of the Old Testament supports slavery. Is it moral to own another human being?

He allowed it, because of the hearts of mankind. Just like he allowed mankind to eat meat after the flood. Just like he allowed mankind to marry more than one female. Just like He allowed kingships.

He gave rules which man neglected and still neglect to follow, because of the hearts of mankind.

There were a lot of things he allowed mankind to do. Somehow the words got translated into slaves when it should actually be servants.

Does a husband own his wife does a wife own her husband does either own children, no I guess they don't.

A better way to say it is: is it moral to own slaves, where people were forced to do the bidding of another, brutalized in any and every unspeakable manner, degraded in every way possible. God doesn't condone it never did, never will and those who did these things will pay when judgment comes.

Yes God is still allowing so much, the difference is he's no longer personally trying to teach.

It's written on the last page in the Bible in the Book of Revelation keep doing and keep thinking just as you do and just as you think.
@Charity Read Exodus 21. God promote slavery, not just allows. It says that the Israelites could buy non-Jewish people as slaves and they are property that can be inherited. They are allowed to beat them and not get punished, unless they die in couple of days.

In your personal opinion, is owning another human being moral in any manner?

He allowed it / you as is your right to can refer to it as promote if you want, that's your prerogative. He told man he could eat meat after the flood and then try to give man instructions on what needs not to eat but before the flood man was not supposed to eat meat, humans were vegetarians but he allowed it, etc etc etc.

And there is a difference in smiting which is a English word and not a Hebrew word and beating. Beating is repeated smiting is hitting once.

I gave you my opinion in my first reply to you, but you ignore what I said about slavery.

Tell that husband the wife is not his and that wife that the husband is not hers. When those words are used that is claiming ownership of another human being. Oh but you overlooked what I said concerning that too.

Won't reply again to you until my next post or my next reply on a post that you respond to me in.

Of course there are other Gods. The main guy speaks of them in the 1st Commandment.

Thou shalt ave no other Gods before me.

All is well as long as he's your #1.

Before there was any Ten Commandments in Genesis 1 God said let us make man -----
In Genesis 3 God said man has become as one of us.

And he does say he is a jealous God, after all man and his kind are at his creation, to reject the Creator?
Desperate and pathetic, binary computing is failing and that totality of falsified data, one No. locks that up, none of the one masks work
