A discrimination that actually makes sense.

After a weekend of me getting to mix with both my friends and my family, on returning on bank holiday Monday, my wife had to go away for business.

After cooking a chili cheese omelette, I got a bar of chocolate to treat myself to something I wouldn't watch with my wife- a junky horror film. I was going to pass but it was of Spanish origin and these kinds of horror movies are better made than American and British ones.

A thought that occurs to me frequently when watching horror movies is "Why do they never have a Reformed Christian charcter?"

I then remind myself- it would be the world's most boring horror movie. The doors open and close. Lights go out. The entity approaches the reformed Christian menacingly and the Christian prays.

"Sovereign God of the universe, you are even sovereign over these demons, as Martin Luther the reformer put it, you have a leash over them. Let not the others focus on these trivial beings that cannot do anything to the soul but let them worry about an eternal, terrifying hell that awaits them if they reject the sacrifice of your Son (God the Son) on the cross."

Yeah, kind of ruins the horror movie vibe 😅

Note- as the pastors of my church association are away on a conference this week, there will be no Wednesday Church Bible study notes, they will probably not be there next week either as it will likely be the monthly prayer meeting.

One of the great errors of horror films featuring satanic or demonic creatures is that they are based on the premise that God and Satan are equal in power. In reality the battle is not between two equals. We know that the prayer of earnest Christians will shut down demonic forces forthwith. But, as you rightly say, that doesn't make a very good film. LOL

Personally, I'm not interested in those kind of films anyway because they're so laughable.
@FreddieUK I guess I'm too used to generic action/comedy movies with family and friends!

Yes, God is sovereign, even over Satan.
With all the Christians in movies based on Steve King books, there must be at least a few who are reformed. Of course, they are never the victims
@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP Nope, they wouldn't be!

It's almost like nature has a rule, never seen a horror movie where a Bible believing Christian is a victim.
