Sermon Notes 17/08/2025
It was one of those sermons where you summarise it by giving an overview, not notes.
It was on Christian liberty while also not being a stumbling block to Christian brothers and sisters in Christ.
An example would be when I have other Christians around, I see their convictions on alcohol and if they don't drink for conscience sake then I won't. Not everyone is Anglican (🤭).
A funny story about this is when we had the pastor and his wife around, my wife and I had a drink before they came round and when he comes in he says "Started without us?" and his wife in her local but gentle accent says "Why not? It's a Friday night!". Yeah, not every Christian is like them 🤭
The brief notes:
. Day by day as Christians we should be seeking to glorify Christ, live to glorify him!
. We will all stand alone before the judgement seat of Christ- noone to put in a good word for you, not even your pastor.
. If you don't accept Christ as your saviour/ believe on Christ you will hear the sentence you will never forget "Depart from me". What, you didn't think you could sin against an eternally Holy god and have no consequences did you? Besides, even in the fictional scenario where you did go to heaven, standing before a Thrice Holy, eternal God forever would surely be a living hell to you, would it not? You didn't want him in this life, so why would you in the next?
