Pastor's response
So after fellowship got closer to an end and most left, after mingling, I talked to my pastor.
He was absolutely horrified at the teaching I encountered that God "hopes" and that our faith activates God to work.
Simple solution from him to avoid viewing God in such a way- first, realise your faith comes from God. Next his other suggestions- are you approaching God with reverence and awe? Do you realise that God is sovereign and eternally glorious- that even for all eternity we cannot even begin to scratch the surface of God's glory?
