A great video you should watch to compare your church against.
The only strong objection I have to this video is "Church is not for lost people". I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume it was poor phrasing.
Lost people are absolutely welcome in the church I go to, HOWEVER sermons will not be made to make them comfortable, they will not be allowed membership and obviously communion is an absolute no no.
Having said the above you will be welcomed, your questions will be answered and you will be welcomed to fellowship after and you will be invited to church socials.
Watching this video really reminds me of the importance of church discipline.
A very fascinating point Peters mentions that should resonate with this section is *cough* awful sermons that contain self help advice- self love, etc and are seeker sensitive. Sound familiar?
If an individual proffessing Christ, who is able to attend church BTW, gets asked why they don't go to church and answers "God is my pastor" I'll give you two translations to that answer.
1. "I'm on a higher spiritual plain than you. In fact I'm on a higher spiritual plain than the Apostle Paul himself"
2. "Sure, I want Christ, but I don't want his church that he ordained and loves".
