Bible Study Notes 06/08/25
. God is patient- look at his dealings with Israel in the Old Testament.
. Yes God has wrath and anger but he is slow to anger- he is merciful and gracious.
. Christ (God the Son) was not anxious- on the way to resurrect an individual, Christ actually stopped to heal a woman with a blood issue- imagine how annoyed his disciples felt! Yet Christ knew the future and we must not get anxious.
. God restores- Peter denied Christ (God the Son) three times yet God made him an apostle!
. God could have damned us to hell and he'd have been justified in doing so. But before we came to Christ, he kept us for the day we got saved, in his patience.
. If we backslide (many of us, including myself have at one point for extended periods of time) God is patient with us and draws us back to himself.
. Be patient- trust in God's timing. I don't know about you but I really needed this advice.
. We must patiently wait for Christ's return, Christ could have sent us to heaven the day we got saved, could he not? But if you are still breathing, God has a purpose for you yet.
. Finally we must know God's patience does have a limit. The day of God's wrath is drawing closer- while you are still alive seek the Lord while he may be found.
