A missed habit of thanks
In my Reformation Study Bible on the commentary of Romans 1:8 it is noted Paul is regularly greatful for the faith of others.
Other verses that show his gratitude are 1 Corinthians 1:4–5 Ephesians 1:15–16( this also expresses Paul's gratitude for Christians love for one another) Colossians 1:3–4 (ditto) 2 Thessalonians 1:3. Philemon 1:4–5 (ditto again).
Wasn't going to write this but I noticed Paul regularly also thanks God for the love Christians have for each other, as family.
Let's say there's a Christian who keeps proffesing they've been a Christian for decades. Two Christians then argue but rather than trying to be an intermediary and reconcile them, they pick sides and even stand idly by as one spreads false rumours about the other. That is not showing Christian love.
So as a habit do we regularly thank God for the faith and love of other Christians? I admit I don't and need to start doing it.
Some pointers for me to start thanking God for faith:
. For Christians I enjoy fellowship with- both who attend my church and for those who I know who attend different churches.
. For the faith of my wife, without it we'd have never met and been married- and a first date involving a walk, pizza express and her car being locked in a car park that would have never happened if she didn't have faith in Christ!
. For you lot who act like Christian family and encourage my posts.
