Wycliffe Bible Translators Highlights Aug- Oct 2025
1. In news about conflicts in the DRC one story can bring the Bira and Hema people together- Christ.
They came together to translate the Bible in a local language.
If the coming together of these people does not show you that Christians should view each other as family, I do not know what will.
2. Donatus- Donatus is from a Nteng community in Nigeria. He is a Christian but growing up Christians from the tribe did not have access to God's word in their language.
Donatus helped translate the Bible into Nteng and he said the language really helped bring the translation to life. It is still early days but the translation verses in question? Mark 4: 35-41.
Donatus described the Bible/translation as "It's like discovering a treasure that was locked away".
All true Christians know this to be true about the Bible as treasure- we don't re-read the Bible as if it's some book on a shelf. True mature Christians will know the importance of reading God's word everyday.

Mark made a false proffesion of faith at 12.
During lockdown when many of us had quite alot more extra time and less busy lives Mark ordered a Bible online and began reading much of it in one go. Lockdown was not an easy period for Mark- lockdown affected his business and he was facing bankruptcy.
Mark soon saw the darkness in the world and realised his sin was part of it, but then he saw Salvation in Christ and took it! Fear of death and fear of his future no longer ruled Mark's life.
Since, like all true Christians, Mark has grown to love the Bible more and more and again, like all genuine Christians, reads it daily.
Mark, reflecting, sees how God used his life to bring Mark to himself and needed to be broken to come to Christ!
