Babylon the Harlot

There are basically two different views on who represents the harlot these days.

Some believe it is the church herself, looking at Revelation chapters 1, 2, and 3 and only where only two of the seven churches receives a fair report, not a good report but a fair report. How the church herself has gone far from the true teachings of Christ. And Peter tells us that the righteous scarcely be saved. The Bible tells us the judgment will start at the church

Some believe it's the Catholic Church, citing that the Catholic Church change the times (meaning the true Sabbath, the Lord himself established the Sabbath for the seventh day not the first day and he did not change it). The Catholic Church is the human head of all churches. Their worship of Mary, quite different from the words of the Lord telling us don't worship anything in heaven or Earth but only God. What of insignias they use.

Too many people are pushing the speculative nonsense instead of fundamentals, @Charity.

That's one way that "evangelical" "Christians" lost their way and support a guy who violates the core teachings of Jesus.

@SomeMichGuy well then tell me if people do not to try to understand, (meaning speculate) exactly what scriptures is saying regardless of whether they agree or disagree / right or wrong how else will they come to some form of understanding? The Bible does not give a direct location or direct name.

Quite frankly the majority of the things Jesus said he said in parables, metaphors. Even some of the people that walked with Jesus and the 12 that stayed with him didn't understand what he meant. Of the 200 that walked with him when he said eat his flesh and drink his blood, left him and only 12 remained. John seem to write Revelation in like manner.

Didn't Paul say study to show yourself approved, didn't Jesus commission Paul to spread the gospel to the gentiles? To study is to learn and speculation comes with learning.

Now you can call it speculative nonsense all you want. And I disagree with you ""far too many people are not pushing what you consider speculative nonsense."" Pushing what you call speculative nonsense will make people think, will make people ask, will make people pray for truths.
